skin rejuvenation device The next generation in light-based technologies for improving the visible signs of skin aging is GentleWaves™ LED Photomodulation (GWLED).

GWLED is a non-invasive procedure that uses gentle light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and treat other aesthetic needs.

GentleWaves says Light BioScience is a complete program combining the procedure with advanced home skin care products from Light BioScience, the leader in the science of LED Photomodulation technology.

The key to the science behind GentleWaves lies in using low-level light energy set at specifically selected proprietary codes for optimum effectiveness that is delivered by sophisticated pulsed technology. Unlike lasers and other phototherapies, the GentleWaves procedure works non-thermally so it does not injure skin tissue or cause patient discomfort.

The tabletop device features a contoured panel of more than 2,000 colored LED lights, emitting less energy than a 25 watt bulb. Positioned in front of the light array, patients expose their face or other targeted body area to the GentleWaves treatment. The painless procedure typically takes less than 5 minutes.

GentleWaves uses low level light to help stimulate our skin’s collagen production and also slows down collagen breakdown. By stimulating new collagen our skin regains a healthy and more youthful appearance. GentleWaves will help make our skin feel softer & smoother while diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. GentleWaves has also been shown to reduce the appearance of unwanted skin redness.

After proper cleansing of the skin, the Classic GentleWaves LED treatment takes less than one (1) minute. The GentleWaves Euro Treatment consists of a gentle exfoliation of the skin prior to the GentleWaves LED session. Enzymatic masques, microdermabrasion and chemical peels are the three most common methods of exfoliation done prior to GentleWaves treatments.

GentleWaves can be administered alone or in conjunction with other treatments. Physicians have found GentleWaves to be highly complimentary with other skin care treatments such as Botox, microdermabrasion, fillers, Photofacial devices and skin rejuvenating lasers.

The skin improvement can last many months after GentleWaves treatments. Most physicians recommend a once per month maintenance after the initial series to keep your skin looking its best.
