Put a Time Machine in Your Broom Closet
Time flies when you're having fun, but stands still when there's work to be done. And when the work is "housework" ... well, the sooner you're done, the better. Thanks to good old American ingenuity at Procter & Gamble, there's now a highly efficient, attractively priced household cleaning product called the Swiffer WetJet. AgeVenture's focus group of working moms tested the new product, awarding high-marks for great results and ease-of-use. "Hey, even my husband could operate a WetJet", says one focus group member. Hmmm. Does that mean hubby's traditional Christmas gift neck-tie is about to be replaced by a Swiffer WetJet? Only time will tell. But then, you may already know. Afterall, you've got a Time Machine in your broom closet.
Years of back-grinding lifting and hauling buckets of dirty water, rinsing mop heads, and scrubbing are finally over. Floor cleaning has truly entered the twenty-first century. It may have taken over 2000 years but at last it has arrived, Swiffer WetJet, the first-of-its-kind, easy to use product for cleaning floors without the need for a mop or heavy bucket of water.
Swiffer WetJet combines a super-absorbent cleaning pad, a pre-mixed ready-to-use cleaning solution and a battery-operated cleaning appliance within a single, unique cleaning system. All you have to do is press a button on the handle and the cleaning solution is dispensed to safely dissolve household soils. Then—without the need for water or rinsing—the super-absorbent pad draws-in the dirty solution to help prevent it from being re-deposited onto the floor. Floors are left clean and virtually dry with no dulling residue. It can't get any easier.
"Global studies found a common desire to eliminate the strain and fatigue of floor cleaning, which was rated as one of the most tiring and unpleasant tasks," says Maurice Coffey, Swiffer WetJet brand manager. "Swiffer WetJet reduces the drudgery associated with floor cleaning, making it faster and easier because there's no scrubbing on hands and knees or carrying buckets from room to room."
Like the original Swiffer, the incredible maneuverability of its swivel head allows Swiffer
WetJet to reach under low furniture and into awkward spaces. Swiffer WetJet reduces the actual time spent cleaning by at least a third. For most people, the worst part of doing chores is that they take time away from doing other things. Swiffer WetJet makes cleaning floors easier and faster so you can move onto doing the things in life you enjoy.
Of course you won't just save precious time. A liter cartridge of cleaning solution will
clean over 1,000 square feet of floor—which is equivalent to the entire floor area of eight
rooms ... so Swiffer WetJet with its refillable pads and solution is a great value too.
Swiffer WetJet, which comes with a one-year limited warranty, is safe to use on a wide variety of floors including vinyl, tile, marble, laminate and finished wood. Swiffer WetJet will be sold at mass merchandisers and club stores nationwide this Fall. While Procter & Gamble does not set retail prices, the Starter Kit, which includes the implement, 6 pads, solution and batteries, is expected to retail for about $49.99. One-liter refill of solution will be sold at approximately $3.49 and a 12-pack refill of pads will be sold at approximately $5.99. A club size starter kit and refill kit will also be available.
The only remaining dilemma now is what to do with your old mop. Maybe braid hubby a Christmas tie for next year? Afterall, with WetJet, he'll have lots of time on his hands to wear it.
