profile People from all across the United States and from as far away as Japan are extending the baseball season a little longer as they gather at Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Florida, U.S.A for the Los Angeles Dodgers Adult Baseball camp. The camps are held twice during the off-season, in November and February. Vero Beach has been the spring home of the Dodgers since 1948.

The week-long camp features instruction by former major leaguers, games against other campers, nightly awards with guest speakers, a game against the instructors and a final awards dinner. Players at the camp span in age from 30 to 83 years and represent seventeen states. This Fall, four campers flew in from Japan for the once-in-a-lifetime experience. Other campers have made it a way of life. Walt Brenson from Annapolis, Maryland has already made his 24th trip to the fantasy camp. Neil Adams of Reseda, California has 23 camps under his belt.

All campers receive six nights lodging at Dodgertown, five days of instruction by former Dodger greats, three meals a day which are identical to those served to the Dodgers during spring training, care by the Dodgers' major league training staff, use of all recreational facilities at Dodgertown, a charity game against instructors at Holman Stadium, awards presentations each night, official Dodger home and road uniforms with the camper's name and number on the back, autographed baseball from the former Dodgers, baseball cards with the campers photo, and video tape highlights of the camp.

The Dodgers' Adult Baseball camp began in November of 1983 and has been popular with both Dodger fans and lovers of the game of baseball. For more information about the adult baseball camp, call: 1-800-334-PLAY. The Los Angeles Baseball internet website is located at www.dodgers.com
