Perfume Museum Celebrates an Era of Fashion Scents
Metro-Maturity brands cutting-edge fashion and lifestyle trends

This Fall 2006, the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, California will exhibit "Fashion Makes Scents" in honor of the opening of The Annette Green Perfume Museum.

Annette Green (photo left) is President Emeritus of the Fragrance Foundation and one of America's leading fragrance authorities. Ms. Green developed and opened the first museum dedicated to fragrance in New York City.

This year, Ms. Green's museum relocated to Los Angeles as a result of its donation to The FIDM Museum and Galleries.

The exhibition of vintage and contemporary fragrance and fashion makers includes the 1984 sculpture, "Perfume" (photo right) by the venerable artist, Erte who is one of the foremost fashion and theatre designers of the 20th century.

Erte's sculpture depicts a beautiful women holding a flower, intoxicated by its scent.

This coming January 29 through April 5, 2007, the FIDM will host the "15th Annual ART OF MOTION PICTURE COSTUME DESIGN Exhibition", an opportunity to view costumes from Academy Award winning films from 2006.

Ranging in date from the late 1700's to the present day, the FIDM's fashion costume collection includes famous designer names including Adrian, Cashin, Comme des Garcons, Dior, and Saint Laurent.

Many of the garments on display were worn by Fred Astaire, Carole Lombard, Marlene Dietrich, Nancy Reagan, and Ethel Kennedy.
